Norman R. "Reggie" Way Sr.

Norman Way Obituary

Norman R. "Reggie" Way, Sr. Dorchester, SC - Norman Reginald "Reggie" Way, Sr. of Dorchester, South Carolina, finished his time on earth on Monday, March 19, 2018. He was born on May 1, 1943, in Dorchester. His wife, Dorita Way, has lovingly stood by his side since August 31, 1979. Reggie was known as son, brother, Dad, and Pappy. Others knew him as "Uncle Reggie", "Mr. Handsome", or even "Deputy Dog", but all knew that he never met a stranger and loved his family both immediate and "adopted" whole heartedly. Before retirement, he worked for Holcim cement plant and was a former trustee at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Reggie was happiest when he was surrounded by family or when deer hunting. His passing was preceded by the deaths of his parents, O'Neal and Kathleen Way; siblings, Joyce Fiddie, Howard Way, "Bricky" Way, Simmie Way; and daughter, Nancy Connette. His legacy continues in the lives of his children, Dean Infinger, Norman Way Jr. and Rita Faye Mraz; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held 2:30 PM Friday, March 23, 2018, at Mt Zion Baptist Church, 101 Baptist Road, in St. George with Reverends Steve Mims and David Mullins officiating. Burial immediately following in the Dorchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Neal Way, Michael Way, Bricky Way Jr., Joe Way, Jonathan Elliott and Danny Jackson. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service in the church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 101 Baptist Road, St. George, SC 29477. I wanted to send my condolences to all Reggie's family and friends. As my cousin, he was always such fun to be with on our annual vacation to Dorchester growing up. Love to all, Susan Fulton Vehslage
