Norman Spaulding Obituary

SPAULDING, Norman Norman A. Spaulding, 72, beloved husband of Mary Lou Spaulding of Summerville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 27, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. Friends may call Saturday afternoon, December 9, 2006, at Parks Funeral Home from 2 until 4 o'clock with a service beginning at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be private. Following visitation, the family will receive guests at the Ladson VFW #3433. Mr. Spaulding was born August 17, 1934, in Monroe, Washington, a son of the late Bert Clay Spaulding and Emla Verley Spaulding. He served as a paratrooper in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC. He was a member of American Legion Post #166, VFW #3433, 82nd Airborne Division Association and 555th PIR Association. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, P.O. Box 50820, Summerville, SC 29485-0820 or to the 82nd Airborne Division Educational Fund, P.O. Box 65089, Fayetteville, NC 28306-5089. Survivors include a son, Kevin Spaulding of Ladson, SC; a daughter, Kristina Jones of Orlando, FL; a sister, Elsie Doty of Kent, WA; and a step-daughter, Carrie Delcourt of Rockland, IL. He was the proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren with three local grandchildren, Katie Marie Allen of Moncks Corner, SC, and Grant and Nicholas Spaulding of Ladson, SC.
