Norma Williams Obituary

Norma Anita Dantzler Williams Charleston - Norma Anita Dantzler Williams, widow of Robert Joseph Williams, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022, at the age of 93. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. She was born on February 1, 1929, in Charleston, SC, to Taft E. Dantzler and Bernice A. Cleapor. She graduated from Memminger High School and would eventually go to work for The Citizens and Southern National Bank on Broad Street. She trained workers how to be loan officers. The bank changed names over the years from Nations Bank to Bank of America. She retired at age 65. After her retirement, she was an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Charleston. She was a member of the Reba Shoemaker Sunday School class, Ivah Blocker Circle, and Prime Timers. She also worked with Meals on Wheels for a number of years with Mrs. Virginia B. Seignious. She joined a senior bowling league at Ashley Lanes, and she was quite good. She made many friends while bowling. She enjoyed watching many different sporting events. She dearly loved her Atlanta Braves, PGA Golf, and anything Gamecock related. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, William Crawford Haltiwanger; her brothers, Taft E. Dantzler and William Crawford Haltiwanger, Jr.; and her sister, Elizabeth H. Davis. She is survived by her son, Robert Keith Williams (Jane); her sisters, Pauline H. Redell and Emma L. Haltiwanger; her granddaughters, Laura W. Ferderigos (Spiros) and Julie W. Hufham; her great-grandchildren, Stavi, Evan, Iris, and Nolan; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a service of celebration at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Savannah Highway at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022. There will be a private graveside service for family only. Memorial donations may be made to John Wesley United Methodist Church, 1626 Savannah Hwy., Charleston, SC 29407. Aunt Norma was a blessing to all, she was kind and gentle and soft spoken! My whole life I never heard her raise her voice or say anything derogatory about anyone! She was an Angel on earth! Blessed to have had her in my life!
