Norma Allen Obituary

ALLEN, Norma Mrs. Norma Jean Allen, age 80, wife of Mr. Bobby Allen, of James Island, SC, passed away in the early morning hours on December 21, 2008 at a local hospital. Friends and family of Mrs. Norma Jean Allen are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 12:30 pm at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. Entombment will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm this evening, Monday, December 22, 2008, at the funeral home. Mrs. Norma Jean Grose Allen was born in Havaco, West Virginia on July 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Wallace Grose and the late Bertha Stillman Grose. She has lived in the Charleston area since 1955. She retired from Piggly Wiggly after many years as a cashier. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Bobby Allen; two sons, Robert Allen of Charleston, SC and Michael Allen, and his wife Toni Marie, of Moncks Corner, SC; two daughters Billie Jo Thompson of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Gloria Jean Robinson, and her husband John, of Atlantic Beach, FL; two sisters, June Joiner and JoAnn Meek of Orange Park, FL; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
