Nina Jordon Obituary

Nina Dean Broughton Jordon CHARLESTON - Nina Dean Broughton Jordon, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Bobby Jordon, Sr., entered into eternal rest Monday, September 29, 2025. The family will receive friends Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Nina was born August 13, 1936 to Mr. William Spears Broughton, Sr. and Mrs. Annie Gwedoleine Lindler Broughton and spent her childhood in and around Aiken, SC. Nina enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach and in the mountains. She was quite artistic and enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, crocheting, painting/drawing, and painting ceramics. Additionally, she enjoyed playing basketball as a youngster and participating in bowling leagues for numerous years in adulthood. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer for many, many years before joining Charlestowne Methodist Church. Her Christian faith was very sacred to her. Nina proudly retired from American President Lines in 1996 after a long and well respected career on the Charleston waterfront. She spent her later years enjoying special time with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved fiercely and wholeheartedly. Nina is survived by 5 children. They are Charles Leavitt (wife, Lola), Carol Jordon Rudd (husband, Ron), Karen Leavitt, Bobby Jordon, Jr. (wife, Brenda), and Sallie Jordon Shelters (husband, Shawn). She was grandmother to many, including great-great- grandchildren. Besides her parents, Nina was predeceased by her husband, Bob, brothers William and George, sister, Mattie Hardin, daughter, Diane Jordon, and granddaughter, Nina Leavitt. She will forever be missed by those she's left behind. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
