Nicholas S. Clementoni "Nick"

AGE: 63 • New Castle

Nicholas Samuel Clementoni, age 63, of New Castle, DE passed away at Christiana Hospital on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, surrounded by his loving and caring family.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 25, 1951, Nick was the son of Alfred Nicholas Clementoni and Jeanette M. Cardile Clementoni Lyons. He made his career as a construction manager with Corrado American where he worked until his retirement in 2008.

An avid sports fan, Nick loved cheering on the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and 76'ers. He coached a men's spring and fall softball team for the past several years - one of his favorite pastimes. Nick also loved going to the beach every summer with his family and playing card games with his friends. He was a man of his word and those who knew him, both admired and respected him deeply. Nick was a very loving son, brother, father and uncle who was adored and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred (Freddy) Clementoni. Nick is survived by his mother, Jeanette Clementoni Lyons of New Castle; sisters, Liz Clementoni of New Castle and Janet Latzgo (Tony) of Smyrna; daughter, Heather Clementoni (Eric) of Newark; son, Freddy Clementoni of New Castle; half-son, Chris Ackerson (Lisa) of Middletown; half-daughter, Evelyn Ackerson of New Castle; nephew and godson, Dave Snowberger (Stephanie) of Newark; 4 grandchildren, Kylee, Tyler, Jackson and Danielle; and 2 nephews, Danny and Dave Snowberger, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 Noon on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10:30 am until 11:45 am. Interment will be held privately.
