Nicholas Caruso Obituary

Nicholas John Caruso JOHNS ISLAND - Nicholas John Caruso, 79, of John's Island died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Roper Hospital. Born December 9, 1930, in Williston Park, New York, he was the son of the late John Anthony Caruso and Irene Maccio Caruso. Mr. Caruso retired from MUSC as a lab technologist. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, the former Patricia T. Pinckney of Ridgeland, and his son, John N. Caruso. He is survived by his son, Nicholas M. Caruso, of Summerville, his daughter Irene M. Caruso of John's Island, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Visitation for Mr. Caruso will take place on Thursday, March 25 from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL (2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston SC 29414). Graveside services celebrating his life will take place following visitation at 2:30 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. I knew Nick many years ago, in the 1970's thru early '80's, when we both worked at the Medical University of SC. He was a lovely man, a very gentle soul.

I am sorry I was not able to pay my respects in person. My condolences at your loss.

Sorry to hear of the loss of Mr Caruso I am one of the employes at the True Value Hardware store on Johns Island, that was always responsible for picking up and droping off Mr Caruso lawnmower for maintenance services.He will be greatly missed.
