Nicholas John Caruso JOHNS ISLAND - Nicholas John Caruso, 79, of John's Island died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Roper Hospital. Born December 9, 1930, in Williston Park, New York, he was the son of the late John Anthony Caruso and Irene Maccio Caruso. Mr. Caruso retired from MUSC as a lab technologist. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, the former Patricia T. Pinckney of Ridgeland, and his son, John N. Caruso. He is survived by his son, Nicholas M. Caruso, of Summerville, his daughter Irene M. Caruso of John's Island, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Visitation for Mr. Caruso will take place on Thursday, March 25 from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL (2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston SC 29414). Graveside services celebrating his life will take place following visitation at 2:30 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
