Nelson "Gene" Eugene Lundgrin CHARLESTON - Nelson "Gene" Eugene Lundgrin, 81, of Charleston, South Carolina passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017. He was born on June 15, 1935 in Lucas, Kansas, son of the late Alice Irene Hubbs Lundgrin and the late Rubin Lundgrin. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Jill Stevens Lundgrin of Charleston, SC; six children: Kim Phillips (Mark) of Leawood, KS; Kelly Lundgrin of Kansas City, KS; Karissa Holmes of Leawood, KS; Annette Waldrop (Jerry); Jamie Lewis (Valerie Neiman) and Sheila Cohen (David) all of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren: Chad and Parker Waldrop of Charleston, SC; Ahlora Lewis of Charleston, SC; Layton and Reilly Lewis of Gainesville, FL; Tanner Lundgrin of Kansas City, KS and River Whitehill of Leawood, KS; one sister, Janice Hrabik (Don) of Merriam, KS; and one brother, Larry Lundgrin (Kathy Stevens) of Olathe, KS. A funeral service will be held TODAY at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 712 Wappoo Road, Charleston, SC 29407. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
