Nellie Ward Obituary

Nellie Ruth Ward GOOSE CREEK - Nellie Ruth Ward, 79, of Goose Creek, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 5, 2010. With her family at her side, she joined her late husband Irving Hill Ward, in the Kingdom of Heaven. She was born July 23, 1930, in Telfair County, Georgia; the daughter of the late George A. Pollard and Nellie Myrtle Livingston Pollard. Nellie was a proud member of Goose Creek United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, fishing, bowling and watching the Atlanta Braves play ball. She is survived by her loving family that includes her four children: Hilda Kay Record of Goose Creek; Deborah MacIsaac of Atlanta, GA; Dwayne Ward of Destin, FL, and Zelda R. Ardis of Goose; three brothers: Troy E. Pollard, Daryle Pollard and Winnfred E. Pollard all of Georgia; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 8, 2010, at McAlister-Smith Goose Creek Chapel, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 9, at Goose Creek United Methodist Church, 142 Redbank Road. Interment will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens, Hwy 17A, Moncks Corner. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Nellie's honor may be made for the memorial garden, Maw Maw's Garden at Goose Creek United Methodist Church, 142 Redbank Road, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
