Nellie Jordan Obituary

JORDAN, Nellie ANDERSON, SC - Mrs. Nellie Ruth Robinson Jordan, age 88, formerly of Bolt Drive and wife of the late Grady T. Jordan, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Brookside Living Center in Anderson. Born in Hart County, GA on December 21, 1919, Mrs. Jordan was a daughter of the late Armston H. Robinson and Lois Dove Robinson Burnette. She retired from Orr Lyons Mill. She was a founding member of Forest Hill Baptist Church, which held its first services in her home on Bolt Drive. Mrs. Jordan was also known for her cake decorating and doll making. Survivors include her sons, Jerry A. Jordan and his wife Marcella of Pendleton, SC, Steven A. Jordan of Mount Pleasant, SC; brother, Harold Burnette of Anderson, SC; sisters, Florence Ashworth and Louise Burgess, both of Anderson, SC; four grandchildren: Lanie, Brad, Derrick, and Jazzy; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Jessie Mae Evans and Ruby Timmerman; and one granddaughter, Janet Jordan. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Dr. Dean Weaver. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
