I had the pleasure of coming to know and work with Buzz beginning in 1966 during the construction and testing of the nuclear attack submarine USS Flasher (SSN 613) at the Electric Boat shipyard. I encountered him again several years later after he completed his distinguished USN service and began supporting commercial nuclear power plants. I had the privilege of providing engineering services to his organizations at the several nuclear plant projects under his leadership. He was a most respected and admired colleague and will be sadly missed. My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Commander Carns on his passing from this world.
