Neal Aimar Obituary

Neal Vincent Aimar BEAUFORT, SC - Neal Vincent Aimar, a lifelong resident of Beaufort, S.C., died April 13, 2012. He was born in Savannah, Georgia on June 4, 1930 to William W. Aimar and Eugenie Toomer Aimar. Mr. Aimar attended Clemson University and graduated from the School of Pharmacy at the Medical College of South Carolina. He was an owner of Aimar's Pharmacy, Ribaut Pharmacy and Colonial Pharmacy in Beaufort, SC. As a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Francis Mayes Sunday School Class. He was a charter member of the Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club and a founding Board member of Beaufort Academy. He served for many years in the Sertoma Club and was among one of the first members of the Republican Party in Beaufort. As a board member of the Beaufort County Health Department, he assisted in the distribution of needed medical supplies to the county's underprivileged citizens. Mr. Aimar was a volunteer for many years with Mobile Meals. He was a former member of the Jean Ribaut Society and the Beaufort Country Club and was a current member of the Wednesday Morning Men's Breakfast Club. Surviving are his wife, Roberta Sjoblom Aimar, daughters, Sandra A. Myrick (John) and Sharon A. McElveen (Wilson) and grandchildren, Caroline A. McElveen, Peyton S. McElveen and Frances D. Myrick. He is also survived by brothers, Toomer V. Aimar and Charles S. Aimar and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Aimar was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Betty Shuman Aimar, son, Neal Vincent Aimar, Jr., brother, William W. Aimar and sister, Barbara A. Goodwin. Services are being held at Monday 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort, SC or Friends of Caroline Hospice.
