Nathan Davis Obituary

Nathan Davis N. Charleston - Enoch Nathan Davis, 88, went home to be with his Lord on July 2, 2021. Nathan was born on February 3, 1933, and was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Jean Davis; his parents, William Nathan "Pete" Davis and Dorothy Mitchum Davis; and his brothers, James Davis and Smart B. "PeeWee" Davis. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Marsh (Lawrence) and Julie Patrick; his grandchildren, Nathan Marsh (Marcia), Garrett Marsh (Morgan), and Jeanne Carr (Matthew); his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Bradley, and Carter; his sisters, Betty Polzin, Lois Gordon, and Margaret Hofman; and his brothers, Boyd Davis (Renee) and Norman Davis (Sheryl). Nathan was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a 1959 graduate of The Citadel. He was a retired employee from NAVALEX/SPAWAR and through the years, also worked for NASA, MILCOM, and RCI. He was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Summerville Baptist Church. He was devoted to the love of his life, Jean, and to his children, grandchildren, and extended family. He had an innate kindness and goodness that drew others to him and he invested himself fully in others. He was a selfless and generous man who delighted in the presence of his family and his friends. Nathan lived his life with a driving curiosity, a keen intellect, a strong moral code, and a wonderful sense of humor. He is fiercely loved and will be sorely missed by all of those that his life so greatly impacted. Visitation will be at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston on Monday, July 5, 2021, from 5 to 7 pm. A Life Well Celebrated Service will be Tuesday, July 6th, 2021, at 11 am at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Carolina Memorial Gardens with United States Marine Corps Military Honors and Committal Prayers. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston

My deepest condolences on your loss. I knew Nathan from his time at NAVELEX, MILCOM, and RCI. He was an astute man with a wry sense of humor.
