Nancy Lanier Obituary

Nancy Mary Lanier Mt. Pleasant - Mrs. Nancy Mary Lanier, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 after a brief illness. Born on February 5, 1940 in East Point, GA, she was a daughter of the late Mary Brown (Pierce) and Hugh Brown. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family. Nancy most enjoyed cooking and decorating for Christmas. She enjoyed traveling with her family, especially her trip to China. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and a grandson (Blake Campbell). Nancy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Lanier. Also surviving are two daughters, Leah Lanier and Robin Lanier (Lisa Gaudioso), a son Robert Lanier, Jr. (Pam); one sister, Kerry Tucker (Buster), four grandchildren, Alicia Norwood, Charles Thorp (Ally), Emily Rowland (Carey), and Hunter Lanier. Also she is survived by one great-granddaughter, Evie Thorp, and a sister-in-law, Ellen Lanier (Larry Hile). Surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 11:00 to 12:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home. A Memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon in the Funeral Home, Chapel, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
