I was sad to discover today (April 15) about Nancy's passing. We worked together for a few years at the Air Force base in the late 80's. Nancy was a dedicated worker and could always be counted on for an outstanding effort. When the CharlesTowne Chapter of ASMC was reborn at that time, Nancy found a home for getting involved and helping others. Over the following years, she initiated, led, cajoled, and successfully accomplished numerous projects that benefitted those who needed assistance in many forms. She kept these projects going for years and helped so many people by the assistance provided and also helped ASMC members to learn to help others and make new friends.
My deepest condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed!

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Nancy was the glue that kept AMSC going. She always made sure that the CYDC was not forgotten. She was a kind spirit and we will never forget her... Another Angel has joined the heavenly choir

My thoughts and Prayers are with the family and friends of Nancy Hood. Nancy and I worked together at DFAS. She encouraged me to become a part of several organizations within the federal government. That sparkle in her eyes would never let me say NO to her. Nancy will truly be missed. May the family find comfort in knowing that... God only pick beautiful flowers for his gardens.

Since the time I met Nancy at the Department of State, she was one of my favorite people. She seemed to always exude happiness with that bright smile and twinkle in her eyes. Often times, I'd stop by her cubicle on my way in the morning, and if she happened to still be there in the afternoon, I'd visit with her again. It was so much fun volunteering beside her at the Cooper River Bridge Runs and some of the other activities that she was involved with. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. My deepest condolences to her family. Eternal rest grant unto Nancy, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

Dear Pam and all of Nancy's family, I am so very sorry and have you all in my prayers. Nancy became my friend back in the 70's, but we had lost touch for many years. I was blessed to see her again last year, and we were looking forward to getting together and getting caught up. What a special, loving and just sweet person. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to all of Nancy's family and friends during this difficult time. I've known Nancy for almost 8 years at the Department of State. She was one of my lunch buddies we would always make each other decide where we were going for lunch, but if you ever said Mexican, she was always the first to go. She had so many great stories to tell and we shared lots of laughs over lunch. I really treasured her friendship and caring spirit. She was always doing for others - whether it was planning parties, buying gifts (even if it meant she had to sacrifice something). You could never out do Nancy. If you did something for her, you can bet your life, that she would do something back for you. Nancy always had a glowing smile and was hardly ever in a bad mood. You could go to her at any time with your problems and you would come away laughing. She was always concerned about you and your family's well-being. She devoted all of her personal time to helping people; especially children. She was an angel on earth, so I know God called her home because he needed another angel in heaven. She will definitely be missed!!
