Nancy Blewer Obituary

Nancy Lee Blewer ST. GEORGE - Nancy Lee Blake Blewer, wife of Leroy Blewer, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday October 10, 2012 in The Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant after a courageous battle with dementia. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Everet Reconnu and Pastor Clay Shook officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Lyn Kizer, G.W. Kizer, Danny Rhodes, Miles Rhodes, Teddy Hiott and Dan Bell. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home. Nancy was born on April 2, 1937 in Beckwith, West Virginia. She is predeceased by her father, Richard Blake of Cannelton, W.VA, her mother and step-father Catherine Scalise Pennington and Jay Pennington of Summerville, SC; sisters, Martha Recknor of Arlington, VA and Patty Huff of Richmond, VA. She graduated from Montgomery High School in Montgomery, WV in 1956 and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in St. George. She was the former owner and operator of Lerae's Florist in Charleston, SC for 18 years. After retirement, she and her husband Leroy Blewer of 52 years, returned to the birthplace of his father and home of his grandfather in St. George to enjoy the remainder of their years together along with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Leroy Blewer; daughters, Kathy J. Coleman and husband George of Fayetteville, WV; Toni L. McDowell and husband James of St. George; sons, Christopher L. Blewer and step-sons, Robert A. Blewer both of Summerville, Terry L. Blewer of Santee and Michael F. Blewer of Orangeburg; a sister, Mary Frances Arbaugh of Los Angelos, CA; brothers, Sam Blake of Napa Valley, CA, and Robert Franklin Blake of Summerville; half sisters, Patty Blake Dorsey of Ohio and Brenda Blake of Cannelton, WV; grandchildren, Lindsay Coleman (Chris) Daugherty and Jason Coleman of Morgantown, WV, Noel McDowell (Brett) Jolly of Charleston, SC, Jesse and Molly McDowell, St. George and Brittany Blewer of Charleston; great-granddaughter, Layla Jolly ofCharleston and very soon to be two additional great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Kizer of Rosinville and Ernestine Carter of Holly Hill and a great number of dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
