Nan Greer Obituary

Nan Greer CHARLESTON - Nannie "Nan" Dillow Greer, 87, entered the Lord's presence peacefully in her sleep on December 15, 2024. Born on October 16, 1937 in Jonesborough, TN, an only child of George and Nola Dillow, she grew up in East Tennessee, later attending ETSU and obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She was married to her sweetheart, Bill Greer, for 41 years, and they lived mainly along the coastal areas of Hilton Head Island and Isle of Palms, SC, as well as East Tennessee. They shared a wonderful marriage and loved spending time together at the beach, in the mountains and antiquing. They raised two children, Will and Stacey, and always had pets, including dogs, cats and birds. Nan became increasingly active in her Christian faith, attending many Bible studies, and and playing piano with her favorite church fellowship being at Mt. Carmel UMC in Chuckey, TN. She worked at Wild Dunes as manager of purchasing and in similar roles for several hospitals. She also worked for over 20 years for the Town of Mount Pleasant in several roles including Grants Coordinator for the Police Department. She was referred to fondly as "Mama Nan" by many of the officers there, and shared a special friendship to many. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Greer, and her daughter, Stacey. She leaves behind her son, Will, daughter-in-law, Susanne, granddaughter, Bridgette, grandson, Bailey and granddaughter, Mycayla. She lived her later years in Mt. Pleasant and her last two at The Palmettos of Charleston, and was well taken care of by the staff there, and was very involved in many activities. The family requests donations to be made to the Mount Pleasant Police Department in lieu of flowers.

My mother & father were residents of The Palmetto's. I would go visit my parents several times a week along with other residents there. I as well as my parents loved Ms. Nan. Nan took a liking to me, I am Assistant Marketing Director at Chick-fil-A Ashley Crossing. Nan told me she loved CFA! I would occasionally bring her a CFA sandwich. Ms. Nan was loved by all & will be missed.
