Nadine (Popejoy) Stafford SUMMERVILLE - Nadine Popejoy Stafford, 86, of Summerville, wife of Jesse N. Stafford, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at her residence. Friends and family may call at Summerville Baptist Church, 417 Central Avenue, Summerville on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 1 o'clock until hour of service. Funeral service will begin at 2 o'clock. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Nadine was born on July 14, 1929 in Groesbeck, TX, daughter of the late Jim Popejoy and Thelma (Nichols) Popejoy. She enjoyed reading and was the church Librarian for Summerville Baptist Church for 21 years where she is a current member. Most importantly she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband Jesse are: one son: David Jim Stafford (Joyce) of Summerville; two daughters: Jacqueline "Jackie" Johnson (Duane) of Gaston, SC and Susan Harrison (Tim) of Summerville; six grandchildren: Jessica Boensch (Trey), David Ryan Stafford, Stafford Johnson, Nicole Harrison, Leianne Johnson and T.J. Harrison; one brother: Dwain Popejoy of Groesbeck, TX; one sister: Betty Duke of Groesbeck, TX. She was predeceased by three brothers: Joe Popejoy, James Popejoy and David Glynn Popejoy.
