Myra Green Obituary

Myra Bazzle Green WALTERBORO, SC - Mrs. Myra Bazzle Green, 84, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Trident Medical Center. She was first married to the late Lonnie Bazzle, Jr. and secondly to the late Walter Green, Sr. Funeral services will be held 11 am, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Green was born August 3, 1927 in Hampton County and was a daughter of the late James Edward Mixon and Leila Mae Ginn Mixon. She was a retired insurance clerk for Asten-Hill in Walterboro, where she worked for over 40 years. After her retirement, she worked for many years at the Library of USC-Salkehatchie. She was a member of Grace Advent Christian Church, where she was a member of the WHFM Society. Mrs. Myra dedicated many hours to the Colleton County Relay For Life and was a cancer survivor. She was also a member of the NCT Camping group, where she was an office holder. In her early years she dedicated much of her time to the Boy Scouts. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at the local nursing home and making crafts for the residents; but most especially enjoyed cooking Christmas treats for her family and friends. Surviving are: her children, Kenn R. Bazzle and his wife Sandy of Rocky Mount, NC, Lonnie E. Bazzle and his wife Marilyn of Walterboro and H. Steve Bazzle and his wife Bernie of Walterboro; stepchildren, Lois Bernard, Charlotte Ruff, Sharon Hayes and Walter Green, Jr., all of Georgia; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Grady A. Bazzle; and 2 great granddaughters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Colleton County Relay For Life, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, Charleston, SC 29406. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at THE BRICE W. To the Family: I was so sad to read today of the passing of your Mom. I'm sorry we haven't stayed closer together over the years. She was like our 2nd Mom when we were kids. God Bless ya'll and be with ya.
