Murden Huggins Obituary

HUGGINS, Murden Services for Murden Rickenbacker Huggins will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at Cameron Southern Methodist Church, Cameron, SC, with Rev. Stephen D. McLellan and Rev. Charles Bennett. Burial will be in the Cameron Memorial Cemetery immediately following the service. Mrs. Huggins, widow of Jesse Maynard Huggins, died on Friday, November 25, 2005. Born in Cameron, SC; she was the daughter of the late Ashby O'Neal and Pearl Crum Rickenbacker. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Rickenbacker Gressette. A graduate of Columbia College in 1931, Mrs. Huggins served as the organist for Southern Methodist Church in Cameron for 42 years. She was active in the Rural Mailcarriers Auxiliary, serving as a national officer. She was a member of the Prince of Orange Chapter, NSDAR, Orangeburg, SC, serving as Past Chapter Regent. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Southern Methodist College in Orangeburg, SC. In 2002 she was the Grand Marshall for the Cameron Christmas Parade. Mrs. Huggins was active in the Woman's Missionary Society in her home church an in the state conference. She was a member of the Cameron Southern Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Cameron Flower Club and a bridge club. Mrs. Huggins was Secretary of Young at Heart. Mrs. Huggins is survived by two nieces, Emily Gressette Rucker and her husband Douglas and Helen Elizabeth Gressette, and a nephew, Thomas Ashby Gressette and his wife Susan and grand niece Margaret Rickenbacker Rucker and two grand nephews, Robert Douglas Rucker and Charlie Randolph Rucker and his wife Susan. The family wishes to thank the wonderful, loyal and nurturing caregivers who have been with Mrs. Huggins for many years, Edie Seman, Martha Watson, Blandelle Glover, Shirley Robinson, and Elease Shuler. Visitation will be at Mrs. Huggins' home, 301 First Street, Cameron, SC. Memorials may be made to Cameron Southern Methodist Church, Cameron, SC and the Southern Methodist College in Orangeburg, SC. I am so sorry we did not learn

of Murden's death until Sunday

afternoon.She was such a lovely

lady who will be greatly missed. My mother was Victoria Louise

Rickenbacker. Our sympathy to
