Mollie McCreery Obituary

Mrs. Mollie Rachel (Edwards) McCreery, age 89, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on November 3, 1919, in Kentucky, the daughter of Christopher & Fannie Lee (Crutcher) Edwards, both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Kentucky, where she attended school. Mollie was united in marriage on November 23, 1935, to Edgar V. McCreery , Sr. & to this union arrived two sons & a daughter to bless their home. Mollie was a wonderful homemaker & enjoyed helping her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Center Square Homemakers Club & the Switzerland County Historical Society. Mollie will be remembered for her love of cooking, baking, embroidering & reading her daily devotions. Mollie died Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 8:50 pm at Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY

Mollie will be lovingly remembered by her son: Claude "Bud" McCreery & his wife: Nancy of Henderson, North Carolina; her grandchildren: Kathy Meredith, Rex McCreery, Curtis McCreery, Vickie Settles, Billy McCreery & Andy McCreery; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Christopher & Fannie Lee (Crutcher) Edwards; her husband: Edgar V. McCreery, Sr.; her daughter: Wilma Rachel McCreery; her son: Edgar V. McCreery, Jr.; her brothers: Bernie & Jesse D. Edwards; her sisters: Lola Beatrice Cook & Josephine Bowen; her two infant grandchildren.

FUNERAL CEREMONY

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 2, 2009 at 11:00 am, by Rev. Tammy Roberts at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery, Ghent, Kentucky.

VISITATION

Friends may call 4:00-7:00 pm, Sunday, February 1, 2009, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana.

MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, St Jude's Children's Hospital & the American Heart Association. Cards are available at the funeral home.
