I met Mitch 3 years ago at Big River Steel and have worked with him since. Mitch was always full of energy and a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed on this project. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.

Mitch was a friend first and foremost. He was a brother fireman, back in Cliffwood NJ. He was funny, he was a positive influence on all the fireman, dedicated and passionate. The Lord called him too soon. Missed when he moved, miss him a little more today. Lord give rest to Your Servant Mitch, where there is no pain, sorrow, and suffering. So saddened by the news of the loss of our dear friend Mitch. He will be remembered for his great love for life and his tough exterior but always treated us as a trusted partner. Our family at Abresist has lost a great friend and will forever remember the strong and meaningful business relationship we had with him. We will truly miss him. I learned a lot from Mitch and he was a great customer and advocate for my products for many many years. And he was fun to hang out with. Today I learned of his untimely departure as I arrived at Big River Steel. The jobs and projects we worked on with Mitch showed the professional and experienced steelmaker he was, the friend he was, and the good person he was. We just heard today what a heartbreaking year you have had. First losing your little four-legged buddy Luke, then your father and now your husband. It´s almost too much for anyone to bear! Mitch will be dearly missed. Every single time we spoke he made me laugh. He had one of the largest personalities I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Rest easy my friend!

Ah yes! Mitch Olsen; Truly dedicated and very knowledgable steel processing supervisor. I first met him in 1988 at New Jersey Steel in Sayerville, NJ. Mitch was always been there to help ;whatever the cause. He had a remarkable personality .I will never forget him. Damn good man! My sympathy and condolences go out to his wife and Family.

I meet Mitch the first time 2016 at BRS. I m so sad to hear that he left that world to enter a new better world. He had my highest respect, he was there if I had questions about the EAF and always say to me buddy. Thanks a lot for nice moments and thanks God that he gives me the possibility to meet him. I will never forget you Mitch.

I feel so lucky to have known Mitch. He had an incredible sense of humor and was always the life of the party! I can still hear his tools clanking on his tool belt walking into the Cafeteria at Severcorr/Severstal. His presence was always heard, no matter the surroundings. Rest in peace, my dear friend! Mitch Olsen was bigger than life. He brought passion to work like no other. Mitch has probably started up more EAF's than any other person in the USA. He was a dear friend and will be greatly missed.

I was saddened to learn of Mitch's passing. He was special in so many ways. You never had any doubts about Mitch's opinions. He was as straight forward as they come! He will be missed by all who really go to know him.

God has a special place reserved for Mitch!
