Jay and Candace, You are both in my prayers and heart. Seeing the two of you reminded me of the beautiful foundation "The Bishop" and "The Bishop's Wife" built. The times we shared at your home on Anson St, (when Candace scared me with your cat) and the times we shared at Grandmomma's house on Harris St,(eating)were beautiful, fun and joyous times. I will always remember Cousin Miriam's beautiful spirit, heart and great sense of humor and the two have these qualities as well. I love you guys and you are in my prayers.

Love you

Sorry for your loss. But at least you know she's with the Lord, and that should be very reassuring. Pray your continued strength and comfort through your faith and trust in GOD.

To Jay and Candace-
You both are in my prayers. I have so many memories of Miriam. I can remember going to your house in the morning and she taking us to school or coming over my grannies house and we all sit around eating fried fish. :) Miriam made me feel so welcomed when we first moved to Charleston I will always remember her warm spirit. I am so sorry that I couldn't attend the services, but please know you are both in my heart and prayers. Lets keep in touch. Love you both.

To the West and Brown Family-
I was saddened to learn of Miriam's passing. We were classmates at Bonds-Wilson High ('62)and later at Claflin U. Although I had not seen her in years I remember her wonderful spirit and jovial personality. She was also a great defensive genius on the ladies basketball team.--May you find comfort in the arms of Jesus and knowing that others care.

Candace, I have never met your Mother, but I have seen glimpses of her through my brief business relationship with you. Patience, tenderness, and compassion are a few of the characteristics mirrored in you that reflect your Mother's character. I am praying for you and your family in this difficult time that the Lord will lift you up and give you grace and strength for the days ahead.

To Jay & Kay, Mother Emma, Joan, Aunt Louise and the entire West and Brown families:

Words cannot express my feelings regarding the loss of someone so dear to many of us. My first impression of Miriam during my high school days was such a lasting one. God has really blessed our family with an angel whose memory will nevr be forgotten and always cherished.

Jay and Kay, both of your parents had been a blessing to me. Now that your mom has joined my big cousin in Heaven where there is no more pain and suffering, I thank and praise our Lord and Savior for the time he has allowed me to share with her.

May Miriam Brown-West, God's angel "REST IN PEACE."

Blessings and Much Love
cousin,

Rev. Bill Jennings

It is with great sorrow that I send my prayers. I am reminded we do not sorrow as those without hope, for we have hope so we know this sorrow is the guest of night, but joy comes in the morning. Pslam 30:5

At times like this
It's sometimes hard
To find the words to say.
My thoughts and prayers
Are with you now
While the skies seem so gray.
A time to weep my friend
For the light of love will
Ease the pain,
Time will heal the sorrow.
Loving memories will remain.
With Deepest Sympathy!
Know that I am with you now
And my heart will never change.

With sincere sympathy,
