I will always remember my dear sweet MaMa. I will remember her forever smile; the one she wore when holding one of her grandchildren either in person or in a picture. You could really see the happiness in her heart. I will remember many Easter dinners complete with beets (just for me and Debbie - as she would always say) and her butter beans. I will also remember her roosters and tea cups. But most of all, her giving and loving spirt. So many memories I will never forget. I will miss my MaMa very much. I love you, MaMa.

Your Grandaughter,

Jennifer Jordan Blythe

The lessons my MaMa taught me will be with me for all my life. She went through several trials in her life but always pressed on and showed courage and faith through it all. One of my memories with her was an entire day she and I and my son, Jayson, spent together a few years ago. She shared stories of her childhood, the fun she had with her siblings, and the love she shared with the love of her life, my grandfather. My Daddy never talked much about his Dad, he was so young when he passed away, but that day I got a glimpse of him that I will cherish forever. Their true love lasted a lifetime and I know she is with him now, in heaven and they are happier than they've ever been. What a gift that day was and all of the days I knew MaMa. Little things, like, how to boil squash in chicken broth, not water, and her love of flowers, especially pansies, and her fondness of Dwight Yoakam, when he first had his country start, and Easter egg hunting with our cousins at her John's Island home, are all things that remain with me and make me smile when I remember her. Even though our family has had its fill of trials, she was always there with a listening ear, encouraging, loving, and never judging. The love she shared with her children and families is truly an inspiration and blessing to me. Her smile reflected God's love and presence. Her hands soft and kind, always busy, and ready to hold yours. Her laugh, contagious and genuine and full of joy. A life led with respect and honor and love. MaMa, I love you and will see you again, Your granddaughter, Jessica

I will always cherish the memories I have of MaMa...her love of good food like fried chicken and blackberries and her extraordinary green thumb. She instilled in me a love for flowers and gardening and always took such great pleasure in sharing her flowery treasures with me. I don't ever look at a pansy and not think of her. I am so proud to be a grandaughter of this true Southern Lady. Although my heart is sad for all of us who loved you, it also rejoices in the truth that you are in Heaven right now tending to His gardens. May our God of all comfort and peace be with us now.
