Miriam Cartwright Obituary

CARTWRIGHT, Miriam Miriam Bootsie Dutes Cartwright, age 89, of Charleston died on January 14, 2006 at her home. Graveside services took place at 12:30 PM Wednesday, January 18 at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Charleston with Pastor Greg Mason officiating, under the direction of McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel. Memorials may be made in her honor to The Make a Wish Foundation or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Mrs. Cartwright was born on July 28, 1917 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Albert R. and Miriam (Comar) Dutes. She worked for over forty years as a ticketing agent for Delta and Pan Am Airlines. Mrs. Cartwright had been a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth C. Campbell of Charlotte, North Carolina, several nieces and nephews and very special friends; Joann and Randy Leggette of Summerville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra C. Cartwright.
