Minnie Brown Smith SIMPSONVILLE, SC - Ms. Minnie Brown Smith, 91, after a long fight against dementia and complications of COVID, quietly departed this life on March 10, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Simpsonville, SC. She was born, September 19, 1931, in Colleton County to the late Christopher and Dolly Huggins. Minnie was a master seamstress that served many clients in the low country. She provided professional services that ranged from tailored suits, dresses, drapery, upholster and alterations. She was preceded in passing by her sons, Clinton and Larry BrownL daughter, Marvetta Reid; granddaughters, Velvet Brown and Precious Reid; and grandson, Jamond Simmons whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her children: Steven Brown (Vanessa), Glendora Brown-Feemster (Kevin), Darlene Brown Marshall (Edwin); a sister, Helen Jinks; a brother, Malachi Snipe (Janie); an aunt, Rose; grandchildren, Tara Baxter, Nyasha Alexander, Nakia Brents (Aaron), Edwin Marshall Jr., Larry Brown Jr., Chevar Brown, Amber Brown, Natavius Simmons, Cedric Brown, Kevin Feemster II (Morgan), Trevor Feemster, Evanne Brown; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a hosts of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Viewing will be held Friday, March 17, 2023, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, 44 Nassau St., Charleston, S.C.
