Minerva Ayer Obituary

Minerva Crosby Ayer BRUNSON, SC - Mrs. Minerva Crosby Ayer, 93, of Brunson, SC, died Friday night March 9th, 2012 at the John Edward Harter Nursing Center in Fairfax, SC. She was the widow of Hallie Edward Ayer. Born May 12, 1918 in Colleton County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Josiah Crosby and Emily Juanita Bishop Crosby Connelly. She was a homemaker and a member of the Brunson Baptist Church, where she was active with the WMU, and her Sunday School Class. She is survived by two sons: Jimmie (Ellen) Ayer and Ben (Ann) Ayer of Hampton, SC and two daughters: Shirley (Miles) Freeman and Linda (Jenks) Rhodes of Brunson, SC. She is also survived by 20 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, 6 Great Great-Grandchildren, 2 Nephews, Bennie (Glenda) Crosby and Ray Crosby. Also, a Special Friend and Care Giver Judy Wall. She was also predeceased by one daughter Yvonne Parker and a brother Albert Benjamin Crosby. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. R. P. Hodge. Burial will be in the Ayer Cemetery on the grounds of Rivers Bridge State Park near Ehrhardt, SC. Friends may call at the funeral home located at 300 Mulberry Street West; Hampton, SC 29924 (803-943-3352) on Sunday Evening from 6 to 8 P.M. Memorials in her honor may be directed to the Brunson Baptist Church, P.O. Box 70, Brunson, SC 29911, and to the Hospice Care of SC, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
