Milton "Murray" Cone SUMMERVILLE - Milton Murray Cone, 92 of Summerville, SC, passed away on Sunday, March 16th, 2025, surrounded by family. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025, from 11am to 12pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 South Main Street, Summerville, SC 29485. The funeral service will begin at 12pm. Burial will immediately follow at Summerville Cemetery, 1330 Boone Hill Road, Summerville, SC 29483. Murray was born on August 21st, 1932, in Summerville, SC, a son of the late John Harvey Cone and Beaulah Myers Cone. Murray attended high school in Summerville, SC, and following school started his career in forestry management. He was employed by the South Carolina Forestry division for many years until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Bertie Martin Cone, and they spent many years together until her passing. Murray was an avid outdoorsman, taking fishing trips to Okeechobee, FL, every chance he had. He also loved to hunt. His family was his pride and joy which provided him with purpose in life. He was a much beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving children: Brenda Mazell and Milton Murray Cone, Jr. (Carol); his grandchildren: Tony Singletary, Jennie Patriss, Christopher Cone, Jessie Smoak (Bryan) and Katelyn Bright (Wesley); his great-grandchildren: Gavin Smoak, AJ Patriss, Liam Bright, Haley Patriss, Grayson Bright, Luke Smoak, Ellie Smoak and Valkyrie Bright; his brother, Joe Cone; his caregiver, Danielle Gatch; his loving dog, Rudy Cone; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife; his parents; as well as his siblings: Roger Cone, Sarah Clayton, Doris Patrick, Jewell Long, Ed Cone, Allen Cone and Geannie Butler and Martha Jean Bass.
