BILL AND YVONNE,
we are deeply saddened by the passing of your mother MRS.JEFFERSON.the few times over the last couple of years I saw MILDRED at the care center her eyes told me the whole story: that she was letting me know that she knew I was there to help those who helped her.

Dear Bill, Mike, and Kurt,
We have all spent so much time together in our younger years, and your mother was truly like my mother as well. At a time like this I can only think of the many happy times we all shared at 142 Spring Street. Your mother contributed so much to my foundation, and I will always hold her in high esteem.
My heart is filled with sorrow, yet I feel grateful for having been influenced by such a wonderful person, as your mom. Our prayers are with you through this difficult time...heaven will truly be blessed with the addition of a new angel, Mrs. Mildred Jefferson.
My deepest condolences,
Harold

Dear Billy, Mikie, and Kurt,
I was truly saddened to learn of Mrs. Jefferson's passing. I've inquired of her over her over the years in my trips to Charleston without success. My mother called last night to tell me of her death.
I want you to know that your mother was a true blessing to me those many, many years ago when I bathed you Kurt, and helped with house work at the 42 Spring Street address.
Through your mom's influence, I even assisted your relatives, Ms. LaRoche and Ms. Montgomery. Your mom kept me busy. Through her, I also worked at both the CA Brown High School Library and the Citadel's Library. And throughout my work career, I've either worked in libraries or served in an information gathering capacity.
Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.
