Mikel Leroy Washington MT. PLEASANT - Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Mikel Leroy Washington, 36, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 681 McCants Dr., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. These services will be livestreamed via The Palmetto Mortuary's Facebook page beginning at 1:30 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. A walk-through viewing will be held this evening at the mortuary from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mikel was employed by the United States Postal Service (USPS). He is survived by his loving mother, Karen Washington (Noel Saunders); sons, Jadden Shaw (Rachel), and Mari Washington (Lisa); daughters: Gabrielle Brown (Latoya), and Kensley Washington (Janae); four sisters: Brandy Washington, Abril Washington-Saunders, Inderia Washington-Saunders, and Tashawn Capers; one niece, Lyric Green, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Mikel is preceded in death by his father, Harvey Rouse; maternal grandmother, Leola Washington, and paternal grandmother, Sara Mae Rouse.
