Sis Starrick, Matthew & Megan:
I am saddened to hear of Pastor Mike's passing. I will always have fond memories of Pastor Mike and his compassion he showed to my family during sad and hard times. He showed much concern over myself and my children during a hard time in our lives. He also eulogized my father's funeral and was there with my family during his sudden passing. This all came to us as a huge surprise in 2002. I will always remember him with his kind heart and warm personality and his faithfulness to God. I know you are all saddened he will no longer be here on earth but I know he is having a true revival in heaven and having a grand time with those who have gone before him. I know he, my father, Bro Parish , Bro Hoage and Bro Carter are having a grand reunion. We don't understand God's plan sometime, but he is always in control and he will care for you and comfort you during this very sad time. Just keep your faith and eyes on him. Our family will be praying for God's hand to protect and keep you safe and from all harm.

My family is saddened by the news of Brother Starrick's passing. Our hearts and prayers are certainly with you and your family. We lost our father this March and we do understand the pain you are in. God send his comfort and peace in Jesus Name.

I loved my Brother n law so much! He was the meaning of a kind, loving gentleman. I always loved him telling me i was his favorite Sister n law, even though I was his only. :) I aIso always enjoy my Husband telling stories of their childhood. I will miss him so much. I was so shocked to hear of Mike's sudden death! I considered him one of my dearest friends. We rode together to Cleveland, TN to attend seminary every Thursday for over a year. We shared some great and unforgettable times on those weekly trips. I knew him to be a passionate minister of the gospel with a sincere love for the people he served, he loved his wife and family dearly and spoke of them often, and was ALWAYS a pleasure to be around. It has been an honor to call him my friend. Though we have not seen each other as much in recent years, I will miss him just knowing he is no longer with us in this world, but it makes renewing friendships in heaven that much sweeter. My prayers for Gwen, the children, his family, and the Ashley River congregation.

I am so sorry to hear of Mikes passing. I graduated with him at JCHS Class of '71 but have not seen him since our graduation. We just had our 40th Class reunion and talked about the ones that were not there for whatever the reason. I am sure one day I will meet him again in heaven. You have my thoughts and prayers going up for your family. My God will wrap his loving arms around you to help you through this most difficult time.

Gwen and family; So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was always very kind and considerate when we were classmates in high school. I had the opportunity to meet and become friends with his sister Gayle some years later and still run into her from time to time. I know Mike is with his Lord and will continue to watch over us.

Brother Starrick came to comfort me when my husband lay dying in the hospital 4 years ago, I was not going to church at the time but my mother was. He prayed with us and prayed with Charles. He spoke at the memorial service later that week. When I came back to church,he welcomed me as if I never left amd he was expecting to see me.
He was a good shephard to his flock, he was a mentor to me and he was consistent in his walk with God. What you saw in the pulpit, you saw in his daily life. My heart and prayers go to Sister Gwen, Megan and Matt. I love you guys. Heaven has gained a true saint.

Gwen, We love you guys so much. I loved that man. I have known Mikey since I was nine. I still remember meeting him the first time when he came in thru the back sliding glass doors to our basement in Macdonah, Georgia because we did not hear him at the front door. It absolutely scared us. He came to my football and basketball games. Great memories of eating late at our house after he had preached a revival service. He was here in the final hours when dad passed away this July. I will always treasure my memories of you and Mikey. We love all of you. You are one of the most precious families we have had the pleasure of knowing. I know down here I may not understand .....I won't let go of the unseen hand....no no no .....cause it holds the reasons why. Thanks to Mark Harris for those lyrics. Love yall !

I am sad for me but so very happy he's with Our Father. Mike was my sister's son my nephew. I remember as a child and all the fun we had.
He love the fact he had an Aunt younger then him and loved to see the look on peoples faces when he called me Aunr Jonnakay.
