Dear Mayor and Mrs. Williams,
You loved and nurtured an angel here on Earth. I was blessed to be Michael's teacher in the 5th grade. I'll never forget Michael as long as I live. Once, when I was considerably rumpled in spirit, your son looked at me so sweetly and asked, when no other student was around, "What's the matter?" Michael was such an insightful, loving person. He set an example of how we all should treat one another. We have not lost Michael. We know he's with Lord Jesus.
With Love,
Mary Beth Radcliffe

To his family just hang in there and remain strong everything will be alright. Weeping may endure for a night but oh joy comes in the morning light so just hold on

I had the pleasure of knowing Mike since he was in high school as his advisor in the Kappa League. I can only describe him as a kind, intelligent, dedicated, passionate, committed, caring, hard working, well-mannered young man who always left a favorable impression on all those who had the pleasure of meeting him. It does sadden our hearts to know that he is no longer here in the physical realm but to know he will always be with us spiritually does offer us peace. I offer heart felt condolences to Mr. and Mrs. Williams during your time of bereavement. Rest assured that he exemplified all the positive things you taught him at all times. God Bless You!

Mayor and Mrs. Williams,
Michael was a remarkable individual. I had the pleasure of getting to know him as I was a fellow member of the Henderson-Davis Players at SCSU. I sat next to Michael as juror 11 in the play 12 Angry People. I remember when you came to see the play. Michael was so excited. He was running around the theatre smiling and telling everyone that his parents were coming to see him in the play. He couldn’t contain his enthusiasm; he was so proud. During scene changes, Michael held my hand and guided me off stage because I could not see where I was going because it was so dark. He did that for each and every scene change during all 6 productions of the show. He was such a sweet and caring person. He always asked me how I was doing and if I needed something every time I saw him or talked to him on the phone. He will truly be missed. He touched everyone he encountered. I was blessed to have him as a friend. You have been and will continue to be in my prayers. May God give you the strength to endure, comfort and peace of mind that only He can give.
God Bless You,

Dear Mike,
Wow, I never thought I'd see the day when I would be signing this for you...We went back alllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way to middle school...I remember how we use to play fight each other everytime we saw each other, but whenever you really would hurt me, you wouldn't leave me alone until I hit you back...I remember you were the first person I went to see when my mom let me drive my car by myself...We always had so much fun together cracking jokes and talking about when we were kids...MAN YOU WAS MY DUDE...But alas, I'm having to do this today and only God knows how bad this is hurting me...You were always an angel, now you just have your wings...Fly free, sleep well, and know that I love you always...The greatest friend I ever had...
Love Always,
Tya

Mayor Williams and Mrs. Betty,
We were so saddened to hear of Michael's passing. Just know that you did a wonderful job of raising a great young man. Whenever I would see him, he always took the the time to speak to me and give me a hug. Even though he was all grown up, he didn't forget me as his 4th grade teacher and always gave me that respect. Our daughter entered South Carolina State this year, and I saw him in the bookstore. He assured me he would look out for our baby! I'm sure he will continue to look down from heaven on her. Please accept our condolences, and we will keep you in our prayers.

Michael was a dear friend to me...one I will never forget. We came into South Carolina State together and it has been nothing the best of times ever since. I would like to send my prayers out to Michael's family. I only knew Michael for a short time, but I remember seeing him walking around SC State's campus standing tall and proud. He never let anything get his way. I remember everytime Michael saw me, he would give me a hug and ask me how I am/was doing. I remember one day I was standing in front of him in line to get something to eat and all of a sudden he started playing in my hair. He said, "You have some pretty hair." I thanked him. Ever since then, I would look at him and remember the day he played in my hair. One day I had the same opporunity as he did to me....I played in his hair before he had to cut it off. I just thank God for allowing me to have the chance to get to know Michael. But I came to a realization that he is in a better place now even though he left his loved ones and a bunch friends behind. I will attempt, he will be truely missed but will NEVER be forgotten. May he rest in peace while he is everyone's guardian angel.

My prayers are with you in OUR time of breavement because we truly lost a great, true example of a young man. I've know Michael since elementary school and always called him my little brother. He grew up to be a MAN that more young men should follow after. We're truly going to miss Michael!! Remember that earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal! Be Blessed!

We only had childhood memories that we shared. He was still family and my cousin, and i'll always remember the memories that I have of him.

Mr. and Mrs. Williams,
I remember Michael best as a bright, respectful sixth-grade student at Clay Hill Elementary who typed me up a thank you letter and gave it to me at the end of the school year. I framed that letter and had it sitting on my desk for many years.
I saw Michael a few times over the last few years at Wal-Mart and he always had a hug and a smile for me. He was quite a remarkable young man. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

We are very grateful for the brief time we were able to share with Michael. Though every young person at New Bethel is special to us, there are a few who hold a unique place in our hearts. Michael has carved out that place and there he will remain. Our prayers & condolences are with the family of our dear brother, Michael. He will be missed.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
