Michael Wait Obituary

Michael (Mike) Douglas Wait, age 29, unexpectedly passed from our earth to Heaven on Monday Dec. 6, 2021 at home in AuGres.
Michael was born Feb. 27, 1992 to Gail (Kucharek) Wait. Michael grew up in West Branch, later moving to Gaylord and graduated from Gaylord High School in 2010. Michael later attended Kirtland Community College.
Michael had been active with the Ogemaw County Shooting Sports Program and enjoyed pheasant hunting in his youth and hanging out with friends. He also enjoyed playing video games and watching movies. Michael enjoyed being near the water, seeing all the wildlife and spending time with several of the family's dogs.
Michael had a wonderful and unforgettable smile that could light up a room. He will be remembered for his compassionate heart/nature, never wanting to see anyone sad or upset. Michael will be missed dearly by family and many friends.
Michael is survived by his mother, Gail Wait (Wes Crumby) of AuGres; his father, Mark (Angela) Wait of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandparents, Ray and Judy Kucharek of Gaylord, and Penny Wait of Punta Gorda, Fla.; aunts and uncles, Lynn and Steve McMillion, Tung Pham, Rusty and Eileen Wait, and Polly and Jack Wilson; and cousins, Wade (Leah)McMillion, Chad McMillion, Jecinta (Dave) Worden, Robert Wait, Eleazar (Brianna) Wilson, and Eden Wilson. He is also survived by multitudes of great uncles and aunts, extended cousins and many friends. Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Wait.
A Celebration of Life service is being planned for May 14, 2022, in AuGres.
Arrangements were in the care of the Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan. Michael will be interred in Gaylord, St. Mary's Cemetery at a later time.
