Michael Owens Obituary

OWENS, Michael Michael Steven Owens, 57, of Summerville, husband of Susan E. Owens, died Friday, September 12, 2008. Funeral services will be held today at 3 o'clock at Ridge Baptist Church, 2168 Ridge Church Rd, Summerville, SC 29483. Friends may call at the church from 2 o'clock until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridge Christian Academy 2168 Ridge Church Rd, Summerville, SC 29483. Mr. Owens was born August 8, 1951 in Plattsburgh, NY to the late James Willard and Marie Blair Owens. He attended Peru High School in Peru, NY where he was a member of the track team. He also attended Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh, NY. He was a member of the International Disaster Team for the Red Cross. He was an avid runner and was giving to all. He served in the United States Navy. He loved the military and loved serving his country. He was an active member of Ridge Baptist Church since 2000. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Cecil Buddy Morrow of Asheville, NC, Aaron E. Gray of Goose Creek, SC, Michael S. Owens, II of Summerville, SC; two daughters, Vicki L. Owens of Plattsburgh, NY, Adrienne M. Martin of Ladson, SC; three brothers, Rev. James Skip Owens of Charleston, SC, Charles J. Owens of Socastee, SC, Bruce E. Owens of Abbeville, SC; two sisters, Lucille Dumprey of Peru, NY and Henrietta Everleth of Hereford, AZ; five grandchildren, Alex, Tyler Jordan, Logan, Kylinn, and Aaron; and several close nieces and nephews.
