Michael was a wonderful friend and Adviser. I could always receive a cordial yet object response from him. He was always kind, and he will not be forgotten. My prayers for his friends and family.

It is with profound sadness that I offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sgt. Nick as well as all of our CPD family. I bare witness to the truth of all the kind words expressing and reflecting upon his great smile, uplifting sprit and unwavering willingness to help others. He will be truly missed.

I met Nick while attending Texas College 1973-1977. When we ran into each other on campus, he knew exactly what to say to make your day brighter.
When the Soul reaches that AtOneNess it will find away to exit this world. Nick had a special appointment in Samarra on Monday night a meeting God. His job here on earth was completed and it is his time to dance with Jesus. Like the song writer wrote "I could only imagine".

Sgt. Nick was a true servant to our Charleston Police Department. He was always a friendly face with a happy greeting whatever position he was serving in. In the 1990s he was the Crime Prevention Officer and worked with neighborhoods and schools, later he helped tourists who had suffered a loss from crime. He found his niche serving as Desk Sergeant and met every visitor with a friendly smile. He was a good friend to me and every member of the department. He deserved a great retirement and we are sad to see it cut short. God be with you Michael and Family.

I am very sorry to hear about Mike. I taught him at Cainhoy School and then he hired me to sell his house in Mount Pleasant. I was very proud of his accomplishments with the Charleston Police Department. My best regards to the family. Everett Presson
