Michael Theodore Laber, USAF (Ret.) MONCKS CORNER - Michael Theodore Laber "Mike", USAF (Ret.), 79, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, joined his Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 16, 2022. His memorial services will be private. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mike was born February 7, 1943 in Ironton, Ohio, son of the late Earl Laber and Ruth McDaniels. After the passing of his loving mother of 4 children, at 2 years of age, he was raised by his Aunt Josephine O'Neill. He attended St. Joe's Catholic School in Ironton, Ohio. Mike then faithfully served 52 years of military service, joining the United States Marine Corp, the United States Air Force and ultimately retiring from a career of Civil Service at Charleston Air Force Base. Mike is survived by his 2 daughters, Kim (Harold) Johnson of Pinopolis, SC and Michele (Clay) Cumbee of Goose Creek, SC and a step-daughter, Jackie Gilbert. Lovingly known as PaPa, Mike has 4 grandchildren, Brandon Cumbee, Cassie (Ramon) Tucker, Ellie and Jake Johnson, 2 step-granddaughters, Monica and Melissa Gilbert, 2 great- grandsons, Rhett and Remington Tucker. He is also survived by his sister, Pat (John) Compliment of Coal Grove, Ohio and many nephews and nieces. Mike was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Sandra Lee Chinn, and Barbara Ann Pixie. 2 siblings, Karen L. Sherman, and Ronald J. Laber.
