Michael Galasso Obituary
GALASSO, Michael Michael Anthony Galasso, 80, husband of Alice Blanche Galasso, of Mt. Pleasant, died December 22, 2007. Born March 10, 1927 in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Cosimo Galasso and Rosa DeSantis. Michael proudly served his country during World War II in the Marine Corps. He later went on to work for Del Monte Fresh Fruit Company, where he retired as the Terminal Manager. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was active in the Holy Name Society. He also gave his time to the American Legion Lodge # 0147. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years; his sons, Michael Galasso and his wife, Sharon, Anthony Galasso and his wife, Jane, Vincent Galasso, Stephen Galasso, Christopher Galasso, and Lawrence Galasso and his wife, Deanna, all of Charleston; his daughters, Kathleen Price and her husband, Duff, of California, Gina Kimberl and her husband, Scott, of Georgia and Laura Lynch of Charleston; his brothers, Anthony Galasso of Canada and Jospeh Galasso of Pennsylvania; his sister, Anna G. Camaioni and her husband, Peter, of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Laura Price of California, William Price and his wife Laura of California, Michael Alan Galasso and his wife Patricia of Charleston, Sara Jo Kimberl of Georgia, Kristi Robinson and her husband, Jonathan of Charleston, and Pauli Gallin of Connecticut; his great-granddaughter, Kendal Price of California; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM, with the vigil beginning at 6PM, Friday, December 28, 2007 at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1520 Rifle Range Road. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rite of Committal following at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
