Michael Reese "Mike" Daniel ELLOREE, SC - Michael Reese "Mike" Daniel passed away on January 2nd, 2018, at 64 years of age. A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Mike graduated Dreher High School. Mike attended Clemson University where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1975. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1979. In 1979, he began his law career with his father, J. Reese Daniel, then joined Sotille and Hopkins, L.L.P in 1996. In August of 2008, Mike practiced independently from Elloree, South Carolina. Mike was a member of the South Carolina Bar, where he was active in its Torts and Negligence Subcommittee, the Orangeburg and Charleston County Bar and is a current or former member of the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and South Carolina Defense Trial Lawyers Association. He is a past Chairman for the Fifth Judicial Circuit Fee Disputes Board. Mike was a former SPCA volunteer, Clemson IPTAY member, and supporter of The Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by his wife, Adrienne Haydeu, sister Molly Elizabeth Daniel, son Gerald Reese Daniel, daughter-in-law Olivia Summers Daniel, and two grandchildren, Jacob and Marie. A Celebration of Mike's life will be held at 3 pm, on Thursday, January 11th, at Holy Cross Episcopal on Daniel Island with a reception for family and friends to follow in the fellowship hall.
