Deni, We are so sorry to hear that Mike is gone. Mike always had a smile on his face when he spoke of you, Michaela or Mathew. Our hearts and prayers are with all of you.

Mike and I were friends and room mates for years. We both loved living on Folly Beach, surfing, and just enjoying life. I lost contact with Mike after my family and I left Charleston. Even though we did not stay in contact, I often thought about Mike and wondered how life was treating him. From reading his obituary, it seems life did Mike right. My thoughts and prayers are with the Buttel Family for their loss of a husband, father, son, and brother. Mike was a good friend and I will miss him.
