Michael Baitz Obituary

BAITZ, Michael Entered into eternal rest on the morning of August 14, 2005, R. Michael Baitz the Frenchman , husband of Carol Isgett Baitz. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. R. Michael Baitz are invited to attend the funeral services of the former at Stuhr's, Downtown Chapel, Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Three o'clock, with a Celebration of Life to follow at The Harbour Club from Four to Six o'clock. Mr. Baitz was born June 7, 1935 in Newark, New Jersey, the son of Romeo Baitz and Eugenie Siffert Baitz. He graduated with a double Masters Degree in Education and Counseling. Mr. Baitz attended The First Baptist Church of Charleston and was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; two step-sons, John T. Isgett of Darlington, SC and Stephen R. Isgett of Charleston, SC; two step-grandchildren, Sarah C. Isgett and John T. Isgett, III; two sisters, Dorothy Lionetti of Louisville, KY and Marie Abbate of Huntington, NY; three nephews and three nieces along with many god children. Mr. Baitz was known for his tight connection with France and especially the region of Alsace where he has many relatives. Over the past 45 years Mr. Baitz has remained very close to his French family and was visiting this region when his accident occurred. As an avid supporter of education and as a retired school teacher, in lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to The Byrnes Schools, c/o Michael Baitz, 1201 East Ashby Street, Florence, SC 29506. Mr. Baitz possessed a special interest in The Byrnes Schools and supported it during his lifetime. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. To the Family of Michael, in the US and France. Our heartfelt sympathies to all. We will always remember Mike as a great neighbor and good friend. We all share many Mike stories here on Cinderella Lane. The news of his passing was very sad to all.
