Mervyn Leroy Washington CHARLESTON - Mr. Mervyn Leroy Washington, 71, of Charleston, SC, entered eternal rest on Monday, April 22, 2024. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Annette V. Washington; children: Yolanda Mitchell (Gerald), Dale Smith, Mervyn T. Washington and Teairra Washington; grandchildren: Jerrell Risher, Javonna Smith, Jerada Mitchell, Danacia Smith, Syneere Washington, Shaunte Washington, Malia Washington, Jhaleeah Mitchell and Jowan Brown; great-grandchildren: Amir Smith, Raelyn Fludd, Delante Hills, Jr., Kaeson Fyall; siblings: Leroy Whaley, Linda Graham, Cynthia Taylor (Horace), Adrain Washington (Melinda), Kenneth Washington (Tonya), Derrick Washington (Jennifer), Leslie Washington, Velma Washington, Andrea Smith and Jacqueline Washington; aunts: Eva Dilligard, Martha Drayton; uncle: Isiah Smith; sisters-in-law: Terri D. White Burnetta E. Smith and Krystal Memminger; brothers-in-law: Vonzell Smith, Clifton White and Arthur Memminger; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends: Arnold Rivers, Willie Higgins, Terrance Robinson, Raynard Kelly, and Johnny Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leroy Washington and Thelma Jackson Washington; father-in-law: Arthur L. Smith; mother-in-law: Janie M. Smith. The family invites you to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, April 27, 2024, 11:00 AM, Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church, 110 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC. 29401; Interment; Church Cemetery. The public viewing will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Smith-McNeal Funeral Home, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC. 29405.
