Goose Creek - Mercedes (Routhier) Brown was born on April 15, 1942 in Barre, VT and passed on April 10, 2026 in Goose Creek, SC. She was the daughter of the late Eusebe and Eugenie Routhier.

Mercedes graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre, VT in 1960.

Mercedes married the love of her life, Gene Brown, in 1963. They were married for 57 years as of the time of Gene's death in 2020. Together they enjoyed traveling in and out of the country.

Both Mercedes and Gene had lived in Connecticut for 25 years, until Gene's job transfer had brought the both of them to Goose Creek, South Carolina. Mercedes was a Data Entry Operator for 33 years.

Mercedes is survived by 2 children: Todd (Dianne) Brown and their 2 children Payton Brown and Parker Brown, and by Dwayne Brown (Tessie Woodward) and his 3 children Andrew, Richard, and Allison Brown and her daughter Addelyn Brown.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mercedes is predeceased by her sister Yolande R. Beaudet, and her 2 brothers Fernand and Rene Routhier.

Cremation is being handled by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services Inc.

A church service will follow at Immaculate Conception Church on April 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
