Melvin Montgomery Obituary

I was very sorry to learn recently of Monty's death. He and I went all the way back to the early 70s at McGuire, when I was a young lieutenant. I always had great respect for Monty and his abilities and professionalism. My sincere sympathies to his family.

I am saddened to hear of the Loss of Monty. My Heart goes out to Ester and the Family. Monty not only was a Fantastic Person but a great Mentor to myself and countless others throughout his Professional Life. To me He will not be missed because he will always be with me. Thank You Ester for sharing Him with Us. Our Hearts go out to You at this sad time.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was always a great father in law to me, with all his wisdom and advice. I know he will be missed terribly.

Integrity first, service before self and excellence in every job he performed describes our great friend and aviator, MSgt Monty Montgomery. We flew many trips together and on the rare occasion the C-141 couldn't fly, Monty was there to get us back on schedule. A highly respected SNCO, devoted husband and father who loved his military family as much as his family at home. We will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and the family.

I have fond memories of serving with Msgt Montgomery, his knowledge and experience assisted me in my duties in many ways. Heaven has recevied a most excellent crewmember. My deepest sorrows for his family during this time of their loss.

Monty, you will be forever remembered as the consumate professional. Having known you and Esther as friends since your first arrival at Summerville has been a treasure. The many trips that you and I have had in the USAF Reserve, and visits at each other's homes, have been reflections in memory of great times we shared. God speed toward your ultimate reward.

I grieve with the family during this moment of loss to you, Esther, and the children. May you be comforted by memories of good times and shared family events over the years. May God be your source of strength during the upcoming weeks of adjustment without Monty's physical presence.

It was my pleasure to fly with Monty from 1977 until 1999. A more thorough, professional, and full of knowledge engineer you could not find. He certainly will be missed - not only by his family - but by all those that had the pleasure of knowing him and flying with him.
