Melvin and I were classmates in our last two years at Burke High School. He was a nice guy who I considered a friend. We lost touch over the years until I saw him again at the dedication of the the new Sanders Clyde Elementary School where his son was the principal and my brother, Harvey Gantt, and my nephew,Gordon Douglas, were the architects. It was great to see him that day and I regret that we never had the opportunity to meet again.
You have my sympathies for your loss. Please know that I and many others will always remember him.
