Cheryl and I were so sorry to hear and extend our love and sympathy to Janet, Dede, Chris and Heather. What a beautiful family we have come to know and love over the past 25 years or so.

Laverne was a true friend in every sense of the word, so much fun to spend time with, so unselfish with his time and help. You knew you always had someone you could count on plus he was so fun, gregarious but in subtle ways. Laverne was a morning guy like me-- the fun starting day watching he and others fixing breakfast at the store every morning at the Heritage. The generoisty he extended not only to us but to our family and friends when we were at the Heritage was wonderful. Would do anything for friends -- helped me get tickets to bring and introduce my three little grandsons to tournament golf.

Always up for a cold beer -- walking around the Heritage I swear he knew someone on every hole we could stop and visit. Dinners at the Crab were an experience , often wild and crazy, sometimes quiet and enjoyable conversation catching up events since last visited -- despite all he did for us when down there, it was still a fight for the check!!! And of course if you were with Laverne you might have to wait 3-4 minutes to get a table!! Everyone loved him and his wonderful laugh.

Legendary cookouts at their house during tournament week -- raiding the cooler at Gatlins to bring home only the best for the grill. Boat trips to Daufuskie during the tournament with so many of ya'll's wonderful friends. . Loved his Gamecocks and was a grand tailgater.

Some of my favorite memories were rocking in the chairs  at Harbour Towne watching all the girls go by!!!!!! And toasting each one!!!

Loved his kids and grandkids so dearly......

We'll miss you, big guy, miss you so badly.

May Janet and the kids find the strength to adjust to life without you.

As sad as today is we will take forward nothing but beautiful memories of our times in ya'll's company.
