Melissa Simpson Obituary

Melissa Mills Simpson Summerville - Melissa Mills Simpson, 74, of Summerville, wife of Reg Simpson, Jr., passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022. Family and friends are invited to attend her gathering on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to MUSC Hollings Cancer Center 2nd Floor, (https://Hollingscancercenter.fundraise.musc.edu), Dorchester Paws or a charity of one's choice. Melissa was born on May 12, 1948 in Hamlet, NC, the daughter of the late Erskine and Hazel Mills. She retired from Dorchester School District 2. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She never met a stranger and always wore a smile. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Reg of 45 years, are: son, Mills Simpson (Tara); grandchildren, Cooper, Tate and Hampton; daughter-in-law, Melissa Mitchell Simpson; sister-in-law, Sally Neblett and her children; sister, Cathy Ellers and her family. She is predeceased by her parents, Erskine and Hazel Mills, her oldest son, Reg Simpson, III and a sister, Arenda Easterlin.
