Melinda Lord Obituary

Melinda Ann "Mindy" Lord, 63, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 14, 2025, at Viviant Healthcare in Hanahan, SC. She is the daughter of the late Richard John and Rosanne Smith Lord. Mindy was a graduate of Summerville High School and earned an associate's degree from Trident Technical College. She had been dealing with health issues for many years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Richard Lord. She is survived by two daughters, Amy (Jacquez) Smith of North Charleston and Carolyn (Kurt) Bassette of Hickory, NC; two grandchildren; a sister, Melanie (Jim) Archer of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Philip (Tammy) Lord of Aiken, SC; a sister-in-law, Blair Lord of Summerville, SC; an uncle, Rev. Dr. David (Katherine) Lord of Knoxville, TN; and an aunt, Jean Shiver of Auburndale, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Knightsville Methodist Church. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
