Melba Hadley Holcombe, 90, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Summerville Medical Center.

Born October 5, 1935, in Bay Minette, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late James Hadley and Dolly Hadley. Melba was a long-term resident of Summerville and the proud owner of Holcombe's Nursery, where she devoted many years serving the community with care and dedication.

Melba enjoyed thrift shopping, spending time with her family, and attending church. She especially cherished the time she shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Owens (Larry) of Harleyville, Anita Thompkins (Dennis) of Moncks Corner, and Pam Ash (Chuck) of Goose Creek; six grandchildren, Christine Owens (Desmond), Brandon Holcombe, Robert Sineath (Michelle), Corey Thompkins, Casey Cox(Marcus), and Travis Burbage(Michael); and seven great-grandchildren, Blake Thompkins, Madison Thompkins, Hunter Sineath, Tarryn Owens, Brandon Holcombe, Tanner Owens, and Colt Cox. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Ronald Holcombe of Jedburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon B. Holcombe and son, Gordon B. Holcombe Jr.; nine sisters; and one brother.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Holcombe's visitation at 12:30 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 PM in the chapel of James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Highway 61, Charleston, South Carolina.

Melba will be remembered for her love of family, her strong work ethic, beautiful smile and the kindness she shared with those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
