Maybelle Groover Obituary

Maybelle Russell Groover N. CHARLESTON - Maybelle Russell Groover, 101, widow of Clarence J. Groover, of North Charleston, SC passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010. The relatives and friends of Maybelle Russell Groover are invited to attend her funeral services on Monday, March 22, 2010, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road at ten o'clock. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday at the Chapel one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Groover was born March 22, 1908, in Georgetown County, SC, daughter of the late Arthur Jack Russell and Anna Elizabeth Hamm Russell. She was a retiree from the American Tobacco Company. A longtime member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church, she was active in the United Methodist Women, Josephine Abrams Circle, Eulalia Cook Sunday School Class and Boone Bowen Bible Class. She was a charter member of Eastern Star #250 of Hanahan, SC. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" M. Bayles and her husband, Charles of North Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Charles B. Bayles, Byron L. Bayles and Mike Bayles; six great-grandchildren, Allison Oller, Stephanie Evans, Melissa Bayles, Darlene Courrier, Josey Bayles and Cheyanne Bayles; three great-great-grandchildren, Jorja Evans, Addison Evans and Hawke Oller. Memorials may be made to Cherokee Place United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 70396, North Charleston, SC 29405. Mr. and Mrs. Bayles,
I saw your Mom's obituary in the newspaper. I cleaned her teeth one time when she came to the dental office. She was so precious!
I can't believe that she was buried on her 102nd birthday. You were fortunate to have your sweet Mom that many years. The world was sweeter because she was here, Heaven is even sweeter today.
Thinking of you during this time of sorrow.
