Maxine Chaplin Obituary

CHAPLIN, Maxine Entered into eternal rest on Friday afternoon, July 15, 2005. Maxine Fountain Chaplin, widow of Guy C. Chaplin, Sr., of Hollywood, SC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Monday, July 18, 2005 at Eleven o'clock. Interment will be at Chaplin's Cemetery on Johns Island. Friends may call at STUHR'S WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Sunday, July 17, 2005 from five until seven o'clock. Mrs. Chaplin was born in Nashville, Georgia on June 26, 1918, the daughter of DeWitt Fountain and Myrtice Roberts Fountain. She was the former Postmaster of Hollywood and Meggett Post Offices and a Charter member of Rantowles Baptist Church, also currently a member of Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church. She was also involved with the National League of Postmasters and N.A.P.U.S. She is survived by a daughter, Christie Chaplin of Hollywood, SC; two sons, Guy C. Chaplin, Jr. of Columbus GA., Aldean D. Chaplin of Slidell, LA.; six grandchildren, Melissa Stevenson and husband Wes, Jennifer Holloway and husband Brad, Phillip Chaplin, John Chaplin, Guy Chaplin III, and Daniel Chaplin; five great grandchildren, Shane Cochran, Hallie Stevenson, Jessie Holloway, Bradley Holloway, Brenn Holloway. In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church, 2014 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston SC 29407. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting www.jhenrystuhr.com.
